Case study

Paid licensing for a browser extension

A customer pays once on a hosted checkout, and shortly after the extension unlocks Pro. This is the backend I built for my own product, Afterglow, and can build for yours. Click any step, or run a sample purchase.

The payloads on this page are simplified examples, not real customer data.

Covered by automated tests

Payments fail in boring ways. These cases are checked on every change before anything is released.

Refunds ✓

A refunded purchase revokes the license.

Duplicate events ✓

The same webhook arriving twice does not create two licenses.

Out-of-order events ✓

If a later event arrives first, the license still ends in the right state.

Plans and trial ✓

Monthly, yearly and lifetime plans, plus a 30-day trial without a card.

Need the same for your product?

I set up checkout, license keys and the extension side, with tests, and hand it over with documentation.
